Off Campus Work Permit after completion of program

Both My study permit and OCWP expires 8 months from now. Last month, I completed and have graduated from a program. I am not applying for Post Grad work permit. I understand that I am not allowed to hold on to the OCWP and must surrender it. Do I need to mail it back to CIC? I understand that there will be immigration problems if I use it to find work.
