Pre-Assessed..
Okay, I have a small dilemma.

I am a Dual citizen of Canada and the USA, but I don't have a Canadian passport and can't obtain one before my flight. I have my U.S. passport and my Canadian Citizenship Certificate but I am wondering if anyone has ever tried entering by air in this type of situation. As far as I can tell, it is the air carrier (Flight Company) who truly requires the use of a passport (Thus my U.S. passport would be sufficient), but I am curious as to how CBSA might react to me producing my Canadian Citizenship certificate along with my U.S. passport.

I have tried Googling the issue but so far haven't come across someone who has been silly enough to attempt this.

Any ideas would be appreciated ^_^

Try this

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/manuals/enf/enf04-eng.pdf
para 9.
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/manuals/op/op01-eng.pdf
Also you could call to CIC Call Centre and speak with an agent. Some :) of them could be very helpful.

It would seem that, according to the first manual, as long as the officer is statisfied that I am actually a Canadian citizen, I should be fine though I will be risking a secondary examination. However, I shouldn't be denied entry or unreasonably delayed as they can verify my citizenship via the certificate.

Thank you!
