[Oath invitation email already received] Would declaring that "Permanent Card is lost" cause oath ceremony to be re-scheduled or application delaye?

Hi,

I know I am asking a somewhat tricky question. Please do bear with me.

So, I received my oath invitation email with the ceremony scheduled to take place next month in September. One of the bullet points in the oath invitation email states the following:

8. If your Permanent resident card was lost, stolen, destroyed or never received, contact us as soon as possible, complete a Solemn Declaration form and return it to us at this e-mail address immediately (and not at the Sydney, Nova Scotia address listed on the website).

My question is: If I proceed to complete and send this declaration form, would it cause my ceremony to be re-scheduled or the application to be delayed? Would it better to simply inform the clerk on the day of the ceremony? If anyone has any experience in this, please do let me know.

Check the section "Applicant reports PR card lost or stolen". Given that specific procedures are to be done in the case of a lost card, seems better to do them in advance no? Also, in all cases, the general wisdom is to follow IRCC guidelines, and these guidelines ask for the information about the stolen card ASAP.

I'm not sure I understand why it would be counterproductive to follow the very instructions they are giving you?

Since the instructions say to report ASAP, why would you want to wait till the Oath? It is unlikely they will issue a new one only for the purpose of oath and then to be cut up at the ceremony. This is probably not the first card that has been misplaced, so they will have a procedure in place for such cases.

Report the loss and then await instructions from them.
