Number of duties in NOC

Hey, My Noc is 2112. My job title is analytical chemist. The duties mentioned in this noc related to my profession are very less i.e only 2- 3 duties. Are these sufficient?? How many duties should match with your profession??

I believe it should be at least 80% or about 6-7 tasks out of 8. Have you tried looking for other similar professions and see if they fit better? Hope seniors can help you on this.

My job title is under this noc .. i have seen noc of other professions also. Some duties like 4- 5 match in noc 2211. But it doesn't have my job title. I am stuck in this. Any suggestions from seniors please..

you can put all the duties u perform even if they are more than 8 or up to 10. If ur NOC is a perfect match they automatically match all the duties performed

What I believe is that your job 'Title' is not the important thing to be matched with your NOC.
What more important is your job 'Duties' for which you are claiming your work experience. If your job duties match with another NOC, you hsould be good to go for that.
I'm not an expert to this, but this is what I understand.

It says, "If after submitting your Express Entry profile you are invited to apply, you must show that you did the job as described in the occupational description of the NOC, meaning that you did all the essential duties and most of the main duties listed. If you do not show that your experience meets the description in NOC, your application will be refused."

So, what I understand from this is that the NOC doesn't have much to do with the 'Number' of duties for that NOC, but the 'Nature' of the duties, i.e. Essential or main duties.
You must have performed ALL the 'Essential' duties for that NOC.
You should select the noc, of which you can fulfil its essential duties.

It's my inference only.

Are these 6 - 7 duties 'Essential' or 'Main' duties?
If yes, then you should be good to go.

That's what i was thinking that the job titles are different in canada and india.. even education is different .. but the duties we perform in my profession are 90% same. Even the vacancies in canada want professionals matching noc 2211 containing 6-7 duties. But with different job title. Here in India we say analytical chemist but in canada they say chemical technician .. both have same duties

So this is clear. Pick 2211.

I had the same dilemma and picked the NOC matching my duties not job title.

Yes, I am, but always remember that people on the forum just help. The application is yours, so you make the final call.

That is totally rubbish if you ask me. Select the NOC in which you have performed the actions in the lead statement and the majority of duties listed. Regardless of how popular it is.
