Looks like most of the November applicants are waiting for Background verification to be completed. Please Join this thread to discuss our timelines.

Try to provide your FPs as soon as you get the request email/letter. It usually takes 4-6 weeks for IRCC to receive results (if no criminal record exists). So, the sooner you will get it done, the better. IRCC received my results on January 15th. But, no further updates. Mostly, November 2023 applicants are waiting for Background check completion.

Hello, I agree! I have seen that IRCC has started to work on BG checks. Though, mostly those applicants are in Ontario (GTA region offices). Not many from Vancouver office. But, you getting a ghost update is a good sign. Hopefully, things might speed up this month.

How come I did not receive a FP request? I did not do a Biometric during my PR application way-back 2018.
Also, they let me do the Test first before the BG check... LoL.. Feel strange!
I joined this forum wayback 2012. I thought I am done, now I here again writing and waiting for the golden email. Fudge!
Has anyone experienced the office change without being notified via email or tracker?
I was sent a FP request from CIC-Vancouver, but then later was scheduled for an interview with CIC-Edmonton today.
After verifying my documents (passport, pr, name change certificate), he asked me other general questions, where i live, work, did i file income tax, etc. then he said he will still need to review the application, expect to wait another 2 months, could be more or less.
I applied online and had AOR in Jan 2024.

I think different portions of your application get distributed to different offices. When i requested my GCMS notes it looked like my security check/fingerprints were done by Vancouver office, my test by the Calgary office, and the CPC-Sydney office was also assigned my Physical Presence, Language, and Prohibitions.
So, I think your guy in Edmonton will probably complete his portion of the application and possibly assign it to some other department.
Note: I could be totally wrong here but that is what my GCMS notes seemed to indicate.

Thank you for sharing.
I just feel frustrated when they didn't process the application in one place.
I know they have specific procedures and processes to follow but it just makes the wait longer.
