Question to the experienced members of this forum.
Background: PR inland application in process, OWP issued, BGC not started yet (so early on in the process) Fiance (who is sponsor and canadian citizen) receives job offer from a company in the states and both are considering relocating as offer is out of this world, therefore withdrawing inland application before PA is leaving too, however PA needs L2 visa stamp before she can relocate, so Sponsor emigrates a few weeks before her to the US until PA gets her L2 status. Would CIC find out that Sponsor has emigrated and would they therefore cancel PA's owp? Would PA need to leave Canada straight away or would Eta visa kick in? Bearing in mind PR application hasn't been withdrawn yet.

If your OWP has already been approved, I think (but definitely do more research on this) that it remains valid even if you cancel your PR application. eTA is not a visa, so it doesn't kick in and give you a valid status (it is only an authorization to travel to Canada), but I believe you would still be in status because of the validity period of your OWP.
I actually came to Canada with IEC visa( international experience Canada) in 2016 july and was suppose to go back to my home country The Netherlands a year later 2017 july but wasnt able to do so because my girlfriend was pregnant. I did apply for extension visitor visa thinking i was going go leave in January 2018. Which was approved ! Again i wasnt able to go back because i was ordered by the police to showup at a court for criminal charges( by the way it ended up with No charges; absolute discharge). By this time, my entension visa has expired. I applied for inland common-law sponsorship with OWP in November 2018 and was expecting to get OWP in march. I havnt get the OWP till now and was wondering if there is any steps i can take to get it before sponsorship eligibility is approve since i lm getting broke and have no money to takecare of my 1 year old kid.
Any suggestion will help.
Also i want to know, does no status for the applicant have any bad implication on the application?

Hey! Congrats again on your owp!
We called cic today and seems the same mistake has been made on our application
The agent said because there was no record of the date of entry of my husband entering Canada they have decided he is not eligible!
Which is funny, because we attached 2 copies of his airline ticket with e a cover letter stating his passport is not stamped therefore the ticket is the only record we have.
So somehow they missed all this info and decided to not put it in the system! And then decide based on missing info he is not eligible!
The agent advised us to send the ticket again using web form!
My advice to everyone out there waiting for a work permit, call them to make sure they didn’t make mistake on your application
Now we have to wait for god knows how long for them to look at the agents note
Does anyone know if there is a way to have them look into it faster? Since it is their mistake and we are the ones paying the price

Once the agent you spoke with puts a note on your account, they attend to it within a week. This is based on personal experience and also feedback from those i have advised to call when in need. Wish you all the best.

After we spoke to the agent who agreed there was a mistake we sent a copy of his boarding pass of arriving in Canada (mid June- no stamp in passport), we also sent when he applied for his extension (late October) and the copy of his visa extension that he received in early January. After submitting this we got it a couple days later Good luck!!!

Quebec people- who did you use to do your taxes? I have been waiting for my husband to get his OWP and SIN number before we do them. Been in Canada since June 2018 but haven't done taxes since I left Canada in 2007. Any advice of anyone in Montreal that speaks English would be greatly appreciated.
If you still haven't found anyone, I would suggest filing your taxes online if you would like with Turbo Tax or NETFILE
They are safe, fast and easy and offering free service if your tax returns are easy and also very cheap paid service is offered if your tax returns are a bit complicated (business related etc..)
Note: your husband needs to mail his tax return, it can't be sent online
