Notifying CIC of Information Changes

Hey guys. I am sponsoring my girlfriend as a common-law partner and we submitted our outland application at the end of July. Since that time, my girlfriend was approved for a Canadian study permit extension. I think in our sponsorship application we probably mentioned the date of expiration of the old study permit and we definitely provided a photocopy of the old permit. Do we need to contact CIC to notify them of this change?
