Dear senior members,
I received a notice to collect my renewed PR card from St. Claire office while I am outside Canada, my current PR card has not expired yet, Can I still use to enter Canada?
I lived & worked in Canada for a bout 4 years and applied for citizenship end of August 2011' got an RQ June 2012, replied to RQ, July 2012, got a notice to prepare for the test December 2013, sent application to renew my pr card end of December 2013, the on line shows in process for the citizenship ( no details after we started processing your application on May 31, ,2012)
For pr renewal, it shows division made ( details show your request was approved on Dec 28,....)
Received a notice to collect my card from st. Clair office , also the same letter for both my sons.)
Now I am outside Canada, I will use my old pr card to enter Canada.
Can this cause any problem @ the airport?
Hi, Your client-id remains same on both your new and old PR cards, so you should be able to check your eCAS. As they called to pickup your PR card, your new card is for sure already printed and the old card is already flagged as 'expired'. KIOSK machine will not accept your old PR card, you will be directed for manual entry and perhaps there will be a secondary check as well. I read about such a case elsewhere on another discussion forum and that person was directed for a secondary check. Hope this clarifies the situation. Best of luck,
-Sammy
