I am so worried. I have not seen my wife and child for more than 2 years since I escaped my country. It's been a harrowing experience living without them. I live in sadness but yet can't go back for fear of my life. Worse is I have been waiting for my decision but still no reply. I feel so frustrated with life.

Try not to be frustrated. How about speaking to your lawyer for follow up or call registry for an update?? getting decision is one thing, but there is approximately another 2years of waiting for PR

Thank you so much for your response. It's not been easy for me emotionally and mentally. The wait is sometimes else but my lawyer does not want to contact them. My Basis of claim is very Legit and I have nothing to hide.

Once you have protected person status, you can obtain an RTD to travel. Yes, you can travel to a neighbouring country. Make sure you do not travel to your home country either directly by flight or by crossing a land border.

I had the same situation. I was waiting for my decision for 3 months. I asked my lawyer to call IRB that why my decision is not made yet. My lawyer said that a phone call will do nothing, so I called by myself IRB and asked that why the decision is not made yet. The IRB agent transfer my call to my case officer, he hasn’t received the call and I leave a voice message for him that why the decision is not made on my case yet. after 20 mints the case officer called me back and he said that he just talked to the member about my case and the board member said that I will send the decision in next week. and next week I received the positive decision through my lawyer. so just don’t rely on your lawyer and call the IRB and asked him that why the decision is not made yet.
