Hello,
I have a question regarding the notarization of documents.
Here in lebanon, the notarization at a notary of a document will be written in Arabic, would the people, whether in OINP or CIC understand that? Or do they mean by notarization to certify it from the ministry of foreign affairs?
Cause I don't get how only notarizing a document can suffice if it's in a language they don't understand
Any insights?
You'll have to scan and attach the original document as well as an English Translation of the same from a certified translator and get that notarised/attested as well.
no I mean the notarization itself is in arabic. when I notarize a document, the words that the notary writes are arabic. Do I have to translate the notarization too??

And who will then notarize the translation of the notarization? I understand your issue. That's why this notarization requirement is one of the dumbest rules CIC has - it doesn't work for countries where notaries don't work in English or French. My suggestion is to contact CIC and explain your situation and ask them what to do. If you need to submit your documents and have no answer yet, just submit whatever you have, even if the notarization is in Arabic, and write a letter of explanation to explain how notarization works in your country. At least you will have followed their rules, however nonsensical they might be.

Do we need to notarize all translations or only translations are fine?

I would still suggest look for someone who can provide you notarization in English. I guess there should be someone. I am pretty sure CIC won;t accept arabic notarization.

try to get the translation from the ministry of justice, I did this in Egypt, since it's a government translation, no need for notarisation nor affidavit

If he can find someone, that would be better. But in most countries it isn't a matter of finding someone who would agree. What a notary can do is regulated by local laws, and very often they state that the official language the notary can work in is the local language of the territory. So it is quite possible that the local notary cannot issue statements in English by law. CIC implicitly assumes with this rule that institutions in countries around the world operate in English or French, which is not true.
I asked the notary today, he told me that various people have notarized documents for Canada immigration (notarization being in arabic) and it worked for their application, so I guess it's okay.
I will certify the documents at the ministry of Justice and the ministry of Foreign Affairs just in case too

better to translate at the ministry rather than just certify it

For example, I received my OINP Nomination and all my russian documents were translated into English and translation was notarized by notary public in Russian language. It's impossible to notirize any documents in language other than Russian in Russia, because records management in Russia is conducted in Russian language only!
So, "the notarization at a notary of a document will be written in Arabic" - is fine.

I translated the documents in Lebanon and notarized them in Dubai where I live
