Notarization of reference letter

Hi,

Can anyone please guide me on the following?

I have taken a reference letter from my ex-colleague / senior on a plain white paper, since the company wont issue a letter with job duties, and my reference has also left the company now.

I am going to get the letter notarized now. Can any normal notary public notarize this letter, or do i need some special stamp of notary that not everyone has and only courts have?

I hear that sometimes countries require different notary stamps on papers.

Normal notary stamps. You should also attach the business card of this colleague.
