First thing first.. Your application won't be returned, if you don't remember your UCI.
There must be a UCI number, if you have applied visit visa.. but its ok, if you can't find one, even then you can send your application without it. Just put one simple explanation on a simple paper.
if she is from visa exempt country, and has a stamp on her passport as visitor visa.
then she would not have UCI .
otherwise, her TRV would have UCI on it.
if she previously applied for study/work permit and approved, then she would have UCI.
When you receive an email from cic that you are approved as sponsor , you would find your and her UCI no. on the email : My husband (canadian) was received his UCI on sponsor approval email.
Note her TRV numbers on the application (where it askes for other visas). If she has a TRV already, she's in the system and it will tie into her passport number. They will notify you of the UIC number when you get the AOR. No need for explanations, diagrams or short novellas explaining the situation.
Just to let you know my wife had visitor visa with single entry and I provided the visitor visa uci with our pr application. Then i got my aor and boom we have brand new uci; not the same as visitor visa so don't worry about that
