Non SPP.... anyone got VISA

Hey,
Am a new kid to tis site....Well...i have a got a situation here.... here it goes

Application date: 8th july 2010 @ VFS chennai
Received at New Delhi on 9th july 2010
I have applied thru Non SPP scheme..and my status haven't changed for ages!!!!! still showing Under Process!!!!
Today is ma 28th working day (38 days in total).... haven't received any calls till now....anybody facing the same situation???
Y is it takin a lot of time??

I think those who submitted their files with Medicals have better chance than the ones who didn't submitted Medicals like me and many others(However i have got Medical letter today, but the VFS guy said that after i submit my medicals it may take upto 1-2 weeks! I said WTF! )

I applied at CHD more than 3 months ago in early March with the medicals. How many more months are they going to take before making a decision ..agghh...

Non SPP will take much time.. even months..

non neccessarry... All my friends were non SPP and got it in a month or in 40 days... Infact one of my friend who applied on the same date thats.. 4th july got her visa last week and I didnt... Getting my even more frustrated.. I am the one only left here among my friends..

I have come to know tat coz of te problems tat have happened in Australia many students have opted canada this year and not only tat the canadian govt have put forward a new policy in which all students who r taking up university studies are by default eligible for immigration..... so i guess tat could be te reason y its takin so much time......atleast for our satisfaction
which unv u guys applied to ? MS course ryt?

@ashisht: Cant believe tat u applied on march and still waiting...WTF!!!! may be u can register a complaint to CHC via VFS!!! check it out..may be ill do te same in a few days time.....

applied to Saint Mary's University in Halifax, Nova Scotia.....

It's early May, sorry my mistake. But it has been so long..I don't even remember now . If they don't give me a visa before the enrollment date, I'm asking my passport back and hoping that they return it fast.

Dont have to worry...u have given all te docs well in advance...and since they have not contacted u means that u will be gettin it coz see if there were any kind of rejection or resubmission they have to inform te applicant in advance so tat he/ she will have ample time to provide wat they are askin for..... and also passport is an original document..no matter wat, no authority have te right to hold it with them for a long tym if they dont have any use wit it....if its a rejection then they dont have to care abt anytin else and they will have to send back te passport as soon as possible...... did u get a call??

what i have come to know is tat they have introduced a new policy tat students applyin for univ post grad eligible for immigration .....dunno hw much it will affect us...but tat wat i heard!!!!! just forget it...tis is not gonna affect us now..wat i wanted to tell is tat coz of tat number of applicants to canada tis year has gone up...tat could be a reason y its takin so much time!!!

Nw the majority of pending cases are frm university students .......... i think they r more strict regarding university cases ........ howevr hope all get visa soon ...........
