Hi there , I applied in October 2023 and it's also NON-SDS. Everything except background verifications is complete. My visa office is Abu Dhabi and I'm waiting for 6 months now

I think the poster wants to compare timeline for non-sds applicants who applied AFTER January 22, when PAL came into effect.
Nonetheless, you are almost there. You should get PPR soon .

Because he is applying from there, like I am from Kolkata so, so my visa Office is Kolkata. If your city doesn't have a Visa Office then you are probably alloted the nearest office from your place or you can choose the one you are comfortable with

Try to get in touch with IRCC. I did the same & they’d mentioned that it’d be done in 4-7 weeks as of April 7th. 4.5 weeks in now. Wishing y’all the best & hoping y’all are approved!
Just an update from me. Super, super fast application process.
Applied- May 9th
Biometrics already done for visitor visa
BIL validity letter - May 23rd
Passport Request Letter - May 23rd.
2 weeks!!!
My background:
Complete career change. I am currently in medical administration.
Going to centennial to do 2 year diploma in truck and transport repair.
39 years old.
Paid first year tuition in full.
Showed $25000 in Canadian bank account. Showed home bank account.
Common law so sent copies of that documentation, along with letter from my wife saying she will support me for the final year (she is a chartered accountant).
Good luck to you all, but it seems that the PAL requirement may be now streamlining the applications?
