Not sure if that is the trend. But what I know and read is for candidates who have not done their medicals upfront and were asked to do it has more positive outcome under NON-SDS. I understand your anxiety and I am in the same boat. But really there is nothing much we can do apart from waiting.

For my last application, they never updated my medical and sent BVL then refusal. Even in the GCMS notes, there are no updates about medical. It had been a well-known observation that BVL before the medical update is a rejection, and medical before BVL is most likely approval. Those guys are gone and this website is very slow now.

medical request is considered a positive sign, almost 100% chances that approval is already inplace. You can call and ask IRCC.

Applied for SP my course is one year passport left with one year three month to expire
my intake is may 2021
my question if after may and still don't get the approval can I update my passport and get request for new LOA from the school to Sept 2021 intake and send to IRCC via Webform together with my renewed passport
