NOC related questions

Hi All

Greetings and Wishes for u all .

I completed my Electronics and communication Engg and Completed MTech in Communication Systems.

Now i am working as an Software Test Engg in Company with 3yrs experience..

I gone through the NOCs which is suitable for me . I was little confused

I need to choose 2173 or 2283 ??

2) In that two NOCs they mentioned as Education Qualification they should have Computer related degree. I completed my degrees in Electronics and communication Engg still i fit into these 2173 or 2283 NOCs ??

A bachelor's degree, usually in computer science, computer systems engineering, software engineering or mathematics
or
Completion of a college program in computer science is usually required.

Dear senthilv83,

You cannot apply using these NOC Codes.
As an IT Professional you can apply only on 0213 NOC Code.
Also you should check that if you have performed duties under 0213 NOC Code.

Hi All,

I am an IT professional and have a four years work experience. I am confused whether I can apply under fast track FSW immigration or not. I am not a manager by designation, can i apply under NOC 0213 i.e. "Information and Computer Systems Manager" category of 38 occupations list. Please help me and share your experiences if someone who is not an IT Manager has applied under this category.

Previous positions held over past are :

1. Software Engineer.
2. Enterprise systems integration engineer.

As usman.shahid told if we are not having a experience as Manager we cannot apply in the 0213 NOC Code category.

If ur not having Managerial experience " WE CANNOT APPLY TO CANANDIAN PR IN ANY other category" ???

Pls Suggest us if we not having Managerial experience help in finding other NOC for "Software testing Engg"

Designation doest matter.... you just need to see whether your job activities are similar to those comes under 0213 or not. If you have about 70% similarity then you can go for it.

Well after seeing all your replied am still a little confused.

I have a bachelors degree in Electronics & Communications and my over all exp is around 6 years and completely into testing. I have no exp as a Manager. My job role for all these years has been the same but designation changed. Per my knowledge NOC is related to our job roles and not desgination. Correct me if I am wrong.

So, am not sure if my profile fits under 2173 or 2283? Could someone please confirm?

Guys IT professionals can apply only if there job duties match the NOC code 0213 and designation is not important.

Here it is important to note VISA officer needs to be convinced that you were working as a manager. SO you need a reference letter on company letter head matching job duties of NOC 0213 which includes duties like
•Plan, direct, control and analyze
•Responsible for development of policies
•Managing teams
• Client Interaction
•Control the budget
•Recruit and Supervise

Hi ankit_20 We dont have matching roles with 0213 (Ie We r not managing the team) So is there is any sub category under 0213??

I am SW Testing Engg with 3 to 4 yr experience which NOC i can apply

I agree with Senthil that 0213 is only for Manager. Well I too do not have any exp as a manager and am really confused under which NOC I can apply.

Dear senthilv83, PrasadL

Under Current rule you can not apply under FSW -1.

There are couple of options, wait for few months a new occupation list is expected and check if your job is included in new list or not, second is to find a job in canada ( Arranged Employment Offer) and apply under FSW-2
