So there's the problem with the NOC that I chose for one of my previous jobs, I'm not sure what to put in my reference letter, previous employer will almost certainly sign anything I give him and cannot be bothered with the task of actually writing this letter, so i'm drafting it myself.
So for example, my previous job was (it's an approximation, not an actual title or job): Janitorial engineer
And I chose NOC that is named smth like: 1234 Janitors (NOC B)
Main duties in the NOC classification (again, exaggerated):
My actual contract had these duties:
So the question is what do you guys think will be the best course of action here:
So for example, my previous job was (it's an approximation, not an actual title or job): Janitorial engineer
And I chose NOC that is named smth like: 1234 Janitors (NOC B)
Main duties in the NOC classification (again, exaggerated):
- Cleaning floors
- Cleaning tables
- Cleaning other flat and non-flat surfaces
- Preventive cleaning
- Putting detergents in the water
- Keeping cleaning records
My actual contract had these duties:
- Janitorial services to company's buildings (which obviously includes all duties stated NOC and the stuff I actually did daily and they were my main responsabilities)
- Material and equipment acquisition and ordering
- Keeping cleaning, material, equipment records
- Optimisation of cleaning processes
- yada yada yada technical stuff related and unrelated to the actual janitoring
So the question is what do you guys think will be the best course of action here:
- Ditch everything extra and just rephrase NOC duties or make up something so it wouldn't seem that it is completely made it up
- Ditch only first point from my contract and make several points from one in reference letter to undisputably match NOC and add everything extra
- Don't ditch the first point but rather make parentheses like this: Janitorial services to company's buildings (cleaning floors, tables, other flat and non-flat surfaces, preventive cleaning, putting detergents in the water)
- Don't match my reference letter with NOC, but just copy my responsabilities from the contract and hope for the best OR draft up an explanation letter to send with it
