I am planning to apply PR soon under CEC. I have got a reference letter from employer that states my roles and responsibilities. These match with the job code 2171.
I did my bachelor's in mechanical engineering 10 years back and working in IT consulting since then. But as per the NOC job description it needs the following;
•A bachelor's degree in computer science, computer systems engineering, software engineering, business administration or a related discipline
or
Completion of a college program in computer science is usually required.

For the purpose of CEC applications / work experience the NOC educational requirements are not looked at by the IO. If the duties of the NOC match your job duties, you are safe to apply.

you said the job duties and studies don't have to match. Well my question would be. Do I pick an NOC code or do I have to take the NOC code that was given to me on my LMO? Because my LMO NOC code doesn't really match with my duties. What do you suggest me to do? I mean I'm a mechatronics engineer but got NOC code 2141! What should I do??? Thanks for your help
