Seniors,

I intend to apply for CEC next month.

I got my work permit on May 2012 (almost 13 months ago), and I'm currently work as a chef.
I noticed that my WP and LMO show the NOC "6241". However, on the NOC list (http://www5.hrsdc.gc.ca/NOC/English/NOC/2011/QuickSearch.aspx?val65=*), chefs' NOC is "6321". There are no NOC of "6241".

In this case, which NOC should I write into the application form (IMM0008-schedule8, etc)? Also, which NOC should my manager write down in the reference letter?
I read the application guide and some other CIC webpages but I couldn't find the answer.

Anybody please give me advice...
I would appreciate for you.

Thanks,

oba

Hey there Oba (are you hiding the last two words from your name?...'ma'?:))

Your codes have simply been changed under the new classification system Noc2011. Previously, under Noc 2006 the code 6241 has now been changed to 6321 in Noc 2011.

Following is the link to the NOC Classification Matrix chart from 2006. http://www30.hrsdc.gc.ca/NOC/english/NOC/2006/html/Matrix.html

If you go to column '6' and row 'skill level B'...you will find your code - 624 Chefs and
Cooks (now the last digit 1 - perhaps that denotes the level?not sure about that one)

But as far as the codes are concerned you dont need to worry. Your 6241 is now 6321.

For your own peace of mind, you may want to email HRSDC: noc-cnp@workingincanada.gc.ca and confirm this yourself. They will respond to you within a week and then you will know for sure which code you can use for your CEC application.

All the best.

Thank you very much InfoSeeker12!
I will use '6321' for my application.

Many thanks

Oba (btw, I'm not hiding some words from my name :P)
