Hi everyone,
During the last 9 years I had two jobs. One was software developer in mobile communications, another is mobile applications developer. I know that NOCs 2173 and 2174 have pretty close description but according to my personal feeling software developer in mobile communications is closer to 2173, while mobile applications developer is closer to 2174.
Can anybody confirm if there is a possibility, that if I'm going to apply for one of these NOCs with my work experience these jobs won't count as the same NOC? Or I don't have to worry and my experience will be counted within one NOC for sure?
And If there is such posibility under which NOC should I apply?

Hi there,

Great question! Based on the information you've provided, it does sound like your roles align with the descriptions for NOCs 2173 and 2174, but it’s important to consider the responsibilities listed under each NOC and how your day-to-day tasks match up.

From my understanding, the roles of software developer in mobile communications and mobile applications developer could fall under different NOCs depending on the specific nature of the work you performed. If most of your responsibilities in the first role involved designing and testing software related to systems or platforms, it would likely fit NOC 2173. On the other hand, if your second role focused more on developing, coding, and maintaining mobile apps, NOC 2174 is probably the better fit.

That’s hiarious.
