My nature of job includes network and systems administration. This includes work with routers, switches, and other kinds for network servers for DNS DHCP etc. I also do Enterprise network architecrure and have an master's degree viz., Masters in computer applications with major in embedded systems. Noc 2147 requires bachelor's degree and above but 2281which closely matches my profile doesn't require master's degree and doesn't list Enterprise network architecture in the job duties. I am confused, should I use NOC 2147 or noc 2281 for applying? Noc 2147 looks more like for people into computer hardware design. Someone please let me know.

I tried updating the noc to 2281, the change was allowed on the profile and a recalculation of the score shows Iam still eligible with the same CRS score. Does this mean I can proceed with the application with update in NOC? I see on this forum that some other people tried it and their applications got approved with a lotter of explanation. Any thoughts anyone?

Hi I also had the same challenge, I am a network admin and I chose 2147. Post ITA I realized 2281 was a better match (the job duties listed under 2147 aren’t fully developed and was too vague and like you said it feels more like a hardware design)
I changed it just before I submitted my application and did an LOE explaining exactly what I just said up there. Still waiting on PPR now tho. August 2 AOR
Hi, thanks for the reply. I had come across this link https://www.canada.ca/en/immigratio...residence/express-entry/invitation-apply.html
Here it says we can update noc and go ahead with application if there is no negative impact like decrease in CRS score or ineligibility. But when I updated noc I got same CRS score and portal shows that I still met FSW requirements. I explained that in LOE and submitted the application on 21 Sep, 2018.
Let me know when you get a response please.....

I got my PPR on May10th, my application was on Sep 21 2018. It took about 8 months, but got it finally.
Does the visa tell which city to land in first?

I had got the PR for myself only. I plan to land, find a job and then bring my family along. My family have been enrolled as dependents but not accompanying. So, after going there and finding a job how long does it take to get PR for my kids and wife?

Sorry for the delay in replying... I applied using the NOC code 2281. I could change it before uploading the documents, recalculated the score and got the same score as when I entered the pool using NOC code 2147. I got the Visa and landed in Canada.
