Can someoen who is successful tell me wht is the difference that they put in their application between an Administrative Assistant and Office Assistant? I realise that the two are very similar. I am an administrative assistant for an insurance company but I need HELP as to how to structure my duties for this category. CAN SOMEONE PLZ HELP ME?!!!
In my opinion, this is the NOC you have to be careful of:
http://www5.hrsdc.gc.ca/noc/english/noc/2011/ProfileKeyword.aspx?val=1&val1=1434&val11=insurance&val12=0&val13=0&val14=&val15=0&val16=0
If you supervise other clerical staff, that would be important to mention. Otherwise, it may be difficult to have your experience accepted as "skilled," unfortunately.
ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT SKILLS
Acted as initial point of contact for inquiries and requests and directed people to those who could be of assistance.
Answered phones in a professional and helpful manner.
Provided information regarding programs, courses, policies, and procedures to internal and external contacts.
Interacted with a large number of staff, students (pre-college), faculty, and parents.
Promoted a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner that supported students, staff, parents, and the general public.
Ordered, distributed and managed office inventory, keeping work space neat and organized.
References available upon request.
