I submitted my application a month ago but there has been no progress at all.

Application/profile status Open
Review of eligibility Review in Progress
Review of medical results Not needed at this time
Review of submitted documents
Scheduling an interview Not needed at this time
A background check is needed Not needed at this time
Final decision Not Started

Dont even have the APR :(

Is this normal?

Normal. Some people are on 50 and 60 days and No update.

They didn't send you an AoR when you submitted the app? Did you pay the fees and get a receipt?

Yes paid the fees and just got the payment receipt, nothing else.

Don't worry man.
I am waiting nearly 60 days and no update yet

That's weird. I'm CEC inland too, and AFAIK, once you submitted the eAPR, you should receive an AOR within 24 hrs, as this is an electronic system.

You don't see any messages in your myCIC profile?

no message :(

actually just checked again and there is a message. - Acknowledgement of receipt - Application for permanent residence

There wont be any more messages till a decision is made or more docs required right?

Should there be any more updates or is this normal?

Sorry for the confusion.

You'll prob receive more ghost emails (e.g. your application EXXXXX has been updated) on an ongoing basis, each may or may not reflect the actual updates on your status. I received a ghost email few days ago and my Medical, Document, and Background Checks were updated.

If your Meds Passed or they require new docs, an update email will be sent to your mailbox. However, sometimes there will be no update email so try to login to your profile everyday.

It took 49 days for my Med results to be changed to Passed, and Background check to In Progress. Be patient.

I had only two updates during my entire process, one for medical and one for additional document. Apart from that, it was a silent journey. No ghost emails at all. So dont sweat over these details. It's all random.
