I applied for a student visa online on June 2nd, 2016 and my application has exceeded the normal processing time. I made a case specific enquiry once on July 18th and another on August 08th nine of those enquiries received a response. Every month I am sent an email stating there are no updates to my application and on July 21st I was sent instructions to undergo a medical test prescribed by specific physicians which I passed on August 05th. Can anyone with experience help me what could be possibly going on with my application. Responses would be appreciated...
You have a complicated history (past study permit, TRP refusal, overstay of a past visa in Canada) and it's unrealistic to be expecting normal processing times. I don't think it's possible for any of us to guess what is happening with your application. My guess is that CIC is still assessing your case to determine if they will approve you given your past. You'll just have to wait and hope for the best.
Yes I did overstay because I had to apply for a study permit upon expiration of PGWP. While I was waiting for acceptance into a post grad program my grace period expired (90 days to restoration) and as soon as I got the offer I applied for a TRP with study permit.
That didn't go through and I left Canada right away as soon as that paper was denied. Why would they have asked me to go through a medical if my case is so complicated?
