i send my application for PR as protacted person in canada and its been more than 3 months and i didnt got nothing .. I called call center they said that they didnt open my application yet and it takes another 2 months just to open my envelopes !! I see here there is people have send their applications and they got something the next month like a letter saying we recived your application but why me is taking long time and they even didnt open my envelope yet ???? Please advice.

According to the CIC website they are working on applications from December 19, 2011. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/perm-other.asp

So the reason you haven't heard anything is that they haven't even done anything with your application yet. If you sent it in July, you'll probably hear next May or June.

so how come they said it takes 17 months for the PR to be done if it takes just a year for them to send me a letter saying we recived your application !! Some people here they got a letter after one month !! ?

It takes them 17 months to process your application, 6-7 months 1st stage and 10 months the second one. I ve also been waiting for my app to be processed for more then a year now.
