The process I went though in customs was I went up to the primary inspection kiosk scanned my passport, took my photo and submitted my declaration.
Afterwards I went to the CBSA Officer which after he asked my the usual immigration questions but he stamped the receipt from the kiosk instead of my passport.
Is this a new protocol in the Canadian government not to stamp passports now or will I get in trouble for not having a entry stamp?

No, you won't have any problems for not having an entry stamp. Also, you're allowed to stay for up to 6 months although your TRV is valid only for two months

Do wait until you're back in Pakistan.... a few months have passed after this visit before you reapply.
Your current TRV is like a 'test visa of a very short validity' to help you attend the exhibition. You wouldn't want to incorrectly indicate to IRCC that you have plans to return almost immediately + your ties are not strong in the US as compared to Pakistan

@Bryanna so my mother landed today 4th October 2018. Her passport has entry stamp with today's date and nothing else to show how long she is allowed to stay in Canada. Can you please tell what it means? Thanks
