New work permit / old TRV

Hi.
I am currently employed in Canada and have a closed work permit.
I have a job offer from another company which started the LMO process; it will take about 3 months to be finalized.

My current TRV is good till February 2014.

If I quit my current job and return to my country for a couple of months while the LMO is processed (I have certain family circumstances) - will I be able to re-enter Canada with my old TRV and get a new work permit at the border (by showing the LMO and the contract)?

If it's a multiple-entry TRV, then yes, you can.
