It seems that the official website https://france-visas.gouv.fr has made a new update: the option for the holders of the document for refugees, convention of 1951 was added among the choices of the drop-down menus ( for the stateless too, gray document) ... And the result and that the visa is no longer necessary for the holders of the Canadian RTD!

I do not put the screen, I let you check for yourself, here is the link:

https://france-visas.gouv.fr/en_US/web/france-visas/ai-je-besoin-d-un-visa

Paradoxically, aside from this important update on the mentioned site, the usual visa and health sites (like Skyteam, for example) continue to mention the need for a visa ... Can you confirm or deny this statement? experiences, information, people who tried or contacted the consulate? ... Thank you all.

hum, I tired this tool and the website advised that I still need a visa.

Me too, I did checked and the answer was I need a visa, I think it depends on your original nationally.

No, these websites did not update their information yet

You did not enter the information correctly ... Do not put your nationality of origin in the nationality space, but select the expression "1946/51 Refugee" (which is normal, you travel with the benefit of your status as protected person, and not with the passport of your country of origin, something NOT TO DO) , to have this result :

Yes that's what I said in my initial message. This change is too new. Sites like iata, or skyteam have not yet updated ... Same for Italy that now seems to accept holders of Canadian RTD without a visa. iata and skyteam believe that you always need a visa ...

Good news!
do you have a link fo Italy ?

'' Holders of a blue Canadian Travel Document (convention of july 28th 1951) do not need visa for transit/and or short term stay (e.g. for tourism or business purposes for up to 90 days) in Italy "

... There is also another official link (a directive from the european union) which shows that at least two other european countries have jumped the visa barrier for canadians rtd holders, but i wait to see before posting what it is possible that all the European countries of the Schengen area will remove the visa for the holders of the Canadian rtd, from January 1, 2021... From this date, even the Canadian citizens will have need an electronic visa ... I think that the common European directive (on which Cyprus is based, from now on, to raise the visa for us), was edited in January 2021, for a common policy ... wait and see.

Thank you for sharing the good news,
Would you send me the European union link?
