New study permit rules

I will be graduating from college in December 2024 and will be starting Masters degree in another DLI from January 2025. Due to change in rules, I am confused that do we need PAL if I am already here in Canada and will be pursuing Masters? And do I have to go for new study permit application and am I allowed to start studying until I receive new study permit? Any leads would be appreciated.

You don’t need PAL but cannot study until permit is approved. So defer if you have not yet applied.
