As of January 1, 2009, HRSDC is making employers harder to hire abroad. What about for those foreigners who are already in Canada whose work permits are about to expire? Will this rule be applied to them as well? The employer will have to advertise the job for 14 days and if they don't find a Canadian or PR suitable to do the job, then the work permit is eligible to be renewed?
