New PR- Travelling to US by car

Hi all,

I was wondering if anyone could help me out or has done the same.

I landed on October 4th at Sarnia and received my PR document stapled into my passport but have not yet received my PR card. Myself and my boyfriend are planning to drive to New York this weekend, crossing the border at Niagara into Buffalo (We're driving as I know I can't fly into the states without my PR card).

I'm from a VWP country (United Kingdom) so can I travel into the USA and come back into Canada with:

1. My UK passport
2. My PR confirmation document that was stapled into my passport when I landed?
