My son became PR on the 2nd of November. The PR Card processing time for a new card should be something around 53 days (http://www.cic.gc.ca/EnGLIsh/information/times/index.asp).
I am still waiting.
Anyone knows the real processing time for a new card?
Thank You ttrajan, I did it.
They said that they should have printed it at the end of December but apparently it wasn't ??? ???
They are starting the printing process now, so I will probably receive it in another 2 months.
Unbelievable.
Call them. Ask why you are waiting longer than the average time.
If you need to leave you can probably ask for the urgent procedure. We ended up doing a Permanent Resident Travel Document while we were abroad, but it's another application, other fees, etc...
After 3 calls now, we received a request for PR Card photos. Again. The same photos we sent them with the application.
They probably lost them. Who knows... ???
The questions are regarding initial PR cards, not renewals.
Re. the comment above on urgent processing - I've been told on another thread that urgent processing is not available for the initial PR card. I'm in the same boat as some of the posters above, recently landed with booked flights outside Canada in early April, and the chance I won't have my PR card before departure. I asked for urgent processing (with family illness as the reason) despite the forum advice - I recieved no response from IRCC so I'm assuming they ignored my request.
My parents landed today at Toronto airport as PR and the immigration officer who did their landing procedure said they will get their PR cards in 15 days
