Hey guys!!! I became a Canadian resident last April 2013 and I did my landing and everything. Now my passport is expiring and there is a visa stamp on it which expires soon as well. I just want to know what is the use of that visa they stamp for us when we become residents? and what will happen when I renew my passport and the government back home takes my old passport which has that visa? I am sorry guys if this sounds a bit foolish or stupid but I just do not know much about these things.
Thank you so much

Hi. The visa that the IO stamped was for you to legally enter canada as a pr. That visa is valid only for ONE use or single entry. When you renew your passport, the old one will be returned to you.
