New passport after COPR and PR visa processed

Hi ,
I have received my COPR and PR visa last March and will do landing this December. I am planning to obtain a new passport (need to change my current handwritten passport with machine readable) in a few months.

Just wondering, do I need to inform CPC, Ottawa regarding the passport change and obtain another visa stamp and COPR on my new passport?

Will it be fine , if I carry my both passports while landing.

Anyone with similar experience.

That's the first time I hear someone being in that situation, so I don't know the answer.
But what I would suggest is, that you call up the CIC hotline and ask them. I don't know how long
the processing times for changes to the CPR are, but it might be easier for you to take two days
off work and complete the landing before you get a new passport, if that's an option.

AFAIK, you should be good to do the "landing" with two passports, however, unless there are unavoidable and valid reasons, it would be better to change the passports after you do the "landing" just to avoid questions from the immigration officer.
