Just wanted to confirm, as the new package is out and I am already almost done with my applications and about to submit this week hopefully. I filled out the old applications, but I just checked the new package which is pretty simple compare to the old one, yet they say that we can send the old package up to January 31st, 2017. But just wanted to make sure that if I use the new package, would they ask us do the medical examination again? as in the new package it says that they will tell you when the medical should be done? But we have already did the medical examination.
"Do not complete a medical examination at this time. You will be issued medical instructions after your application is received. If you have completed an immigration medical exam in the last 12 months, please attach a copy of the Information Sheet from the Panel Physician and provide the date of your medical examination and the name and location of the Panel Physician below. You may still be required to undergo a new medical examination."
I know they've traditionally been valid for 12 months, but the checklist doesn't say you won't be asked for another one just because they were supposed to be valid for 12 months. Who knows what their thinking is right now. I wouldn't state unequivocally that someone won't possibly be asked for another one when the checklist implies it's a possibility. I think until we see how CIC starts processing the new applications, it's a bad idea to make assumptions. Since they're not even allowing people to make appointments for upfront exams anymore as of the 15th according to someone who tried to make one recently in another thread, it's clear that they're doing something different now.
