New minimum income requirement?

On this site it says I would need a minimum income of 25k if I am going to sponsor my wife, is this true or am I reading it wrong?

That's the Canada Immigration Official website and there where you get all the official info .

However I guess you miss read it , it's telling you that you need to meet the minimum income if you are not in the Family class .

No minimum income requirement for spousal sponsorship .

Nothing has changed.

If you are sponsoring a person other than:

your spouse, common-law or conjugal partner who has no family members, or
your spouse, common-law or conjugal partner who has dependent children who have no dependent children of their own, or
your child who has no children of his or her own,


If you are sponsoring your wife and/or your children, then there is no minimum requirement. If your wife's dependent child also has a dependent child, then you would need to meet the minimum, or if you were sponsoring other family members, such as your parents or grandparents.
