If our application is already transferred to CPP Ottawa, is that a good thing or bad thing? Won't it remove the delay of them sending it back to buffalo for PPR? And what is going to happen with PPR? Same thing? We have to send it, get it back by mail and goto the border.. That kinda sucks.. I was hoping to do it on the same day
they had a bulleting abot temporary visitors that they can get entry visa from Ottawa
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/manuals/bulletins/2012/ob426.asp
if they can make that entry visa in Ottawa why can't they make the immigration one too?
Probably they can and they will and we won't even have to ask Buffalo for it.
And why do you need a visa to go out and back in if you are alread yin? can't they do the landing from within and relieve us from that pain?
that way if I am in Canada and want to visit back home, I get the entry visa from Canada and won't have to deal with the embassy aborad and their lengthy processes.
You can also land in a local CIC office but getting an appointment can be a long wait. However, if your immigrant visa expires within a short time, you should mention it because the call centre agents can submit an urgent request.

Well, that's more info. I am awaiting on deliver of my PR papers. had my PPR at the start of the month and sent in my copies then. My ECAS got updated to "decision made" a week ago. Was hoping i might be getting a letter this week! but maybe they'll be moving my file to ottawa and sending it after the move? I hope not!
Hang on, unless I'm mistaken, when you get a PPR from let's say Buffalo, and you send you passport.
Don't they return it back to you with a COPR and a visa(?), with the copr supposed to be handed in at the border.
Now will CPP Ott be issuing COPR's as well, along with the visa's? Or is that stuff still going to be done at a consulate outside of Canada? Any thoughts?
I don't even think most of the CIC call center agents are to sure yet about my question. I spoke to one now, and initially he indicated the visa and copr issuance will be done by CPP-Ott, but then he put me on hold, and once he came back, he said the Detroit office will be handling it, but best to wait for instructions because a lot of things are changing.
Hello,
I have a couple of inquiries that I wanted to do with Buffalo office on my PR application. Now if the Buffalo is closed, so should I be sending them an email or contact the Pilot Ottawa office?
Has the Buffalo transfer completed for all applications to Pilot Ottawa? The site doesn't mentions of an end date of when will the Pilot office become fully functional after taking over Buffalo.
