New Comer - Canada - Unemployment benefits

Hi,

I am a Permanent Resident(PR) and new comer to Canada. Would there be any benefits from the Govt. for the unemployed, that I can be eligible for ? I am currently unemployed and looking for any benefits that could be helpful in my current situation. I have not contracted COVID.

Looks like the current benefit program ( CRB ) is only for people who earned minimum 5000$ last year.

Any inputs will be greatly appreciated !

EI is based on a minimum number of hours worked before you are eligible. Otherwise, there is Social Assistance, but that a minimal amount.
