Hi guys, I took the CELPIP test on March and got the score (4L,4H,5L,5H). I remember previously CEC applications require all minimum 4L. But today when I check the language requirement again it changed to all 4H (http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/cec/language-testing.asp). Is it really a new policy or a typo?
I hope it's a typo. It doesn't make sense to change the old test results. I understand that the new test will have a different rating, but they shouldn't have changed the old one. Now, I'm worried too... I'm waiting for my results, and I thought that 4L will be doable as it used to be the passing mark.
Also, it doesn't make sense because the CELPIP official web site says:
Maybe, it's worth reaching them out (CEC) to ask further details about the change. I'm going to complain if they have changed it on the fly and they have already accepted applications which have 4L as minimum requirement (one of my friends already applied with 4L and got the the acknowledge from CEC).
Are you able to contact them? I tried without luck.
It's unfair to have people applying with 4L and 4H under the same annual cap.
I checked the Skilled Worker program, and it seems correct (4L). It was recently updated http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/language-testing.asp
Celpip still has 4L as minimum: http://www.celpiptest.ca/about-celpip-g/test-format-and-scoring/
From my point of view, it's a typo. However, I can't tell you whether is okay to send your application or not. People in another thread already asked CIC and reported the "error". Let's see how it goes. Maybe, it's worth waiting until monday next week.
