net income sponsor

Hey everyone!

My husband is filling out his sponsorship evaluation form and we were wondering what exactly "net income" means. He is a PhD at the university and gets half his income via scholarship money. Should that be included and maybe made clear where it comes from?
Also, he hasn't lived in Canada for 12 month yet due to some time studying abroad. He made some money abroad as well. Should that be included and does it need to be proven by a bank statement?

Hi!

Just state how much he earns a year. Annual income. You can include past income but they are interested in seeing how much money he makes to support you. There is no minimum amount.

My situation's similar (I'm an MA student and part-time worker overseas). I included a statement from my university that says (a) that I am a student there (including the title of my program), (b) the length of my program, (c) that I am on scholarship, (d) the amount of my scholarship.

I also included letters from my part-time employers that included (a) length of employment, (b) job title, (c) salary, (d) hours/week.

I then typed it all up onto a table showing my 'net income' for the past 12 months.

I didn't have to include pay stubs or bank statements. If you have children then you may have to provide more info.
