My work permit is valid until first week of October 2016. I have applied for Ontario PNP and waiting for Nomination Letter. I need to extend my work permit once i get nomination letter.

I am not sure when i would be getting nomination letter because pnp is processing very slowly & they are piled up. Do i need to extend my work permit before my current work permit expiry date ? or i just need to apply for extension before my expiry ?

Can someone please clarify .. I am really worried :'( :-\ since i dont know when i would receive nomination letter ... I will get it before october hopefully.
