Co-ops didn't exist when I went to school, at least not in my subjects. I think they might be important now -- I was really frustrated when I was living in Victoria and people kept advertising and readvertising unfilled co-op positions that I wasn't eligible for. If you're planning to stay on in CAnada after finishing your studies, co-ops give you one of the easiest routes to doing that.
It's strange that your major seems to be a specialty of two unrelated Concordia Universities . . .
Hi
I am an Indian student I am planning for Masters from a low ranked institution in Canada. (Concordia University College of Alberta )
Now , I have a good profile.People suggest me go for High ranked Universities.
I am in dilemna whether doing masters from a low ranked Instituion hampers the job opportunites in any manner??
Or whether the employers are only interested in hiring people from well known reputed University?
I have heard of Concordia for sure. and have friends in Montreal who graduated there and found jobs in IT section.
To see the universities in companies' websites, you need to register in their career section as an applicant. Then while filling out the fields, it will ask about your university, and there usually is a drop down of all universities they recognize. So basically it is not a quick check.
Can you brief me about major companies of canada, especiaaly IT doimain.
Any links for the company sites, job sites will be much appreciated.
Even if i browse through 15-2o sites , i can get an idea, as to how my insitution is.
Do u know anyone from Concordia University college of alberta?? If so, it would be a great help if u can tell me abt the institute and value of course MISSM (Information security managemnet)
I am not talking abt Concordia Univesity, Montreal.

One is Concordia University, Quebec
The other one is Concordia University College of alberta , Alberta (CUCA)
The second one has been aurhtorised to give graduate degrees in 4 specific areas.
Check out this link : http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/study/institutions/participants.asp#alberta
and further CUCA exists on list of recognosed insitutions : http://www.albertacanada.com/opportunity/immigrating/srs-post-graduate-worker.aspx
