Can anyone recommend a good, affordable immigration lawyer to help my husband and I with our sponsorship application?! We are new to Toronto and any suggestions would be much appreciated. Thank you!
I would agree. Unless you have some serious red flags or issues in your situation, or are incapable of filling out the forms (perhaps if english is not strong). Most main questions anybody could have in doing an app, can be answered on this site.
Also remember, you get what you pay for. If you go for the cheapest consultant/lawyer you can find, they could end up causing more delays and problems and giving incorrect info. Some consultants take days to get back to you on a question. Read some people's experiences here about using consultants, and you'll see they aren't all good.
FYI, this website is hosted by an immigration lawyers group (David Cohen). I've heard they are good... but be prepared to pay.
Adam Blum! His firm is called canadian immigration problem solvers. He's the best
Side note: I had a bit of a complicated case and he helped me through it all. U can always reach him on his phone and he's always available. He even lowered the price because we are a young couple and couldn't afford to pay a lot. He actually used to be an immigration officer himself !
Thanks so much to all of you guys for suggestions!! So far, in addition to the lawyers you suggested, I received a couple of other names... we've been looking for a while and at this point, we are deciding between Michael Batista and Ivan Steele. Heard some amazing things about both office, had consults etc.. any experience with either. My sister-in-law and her husband used Ivan Steele and they praise him to high heavens, and Michael is a more senior lawyer, but no personal recommendations for him.. Argghhh - i wish we did not have to deal with immigration at all ;D
