Dear Friends,

I am crazy busy preparing for Canada. I am landing in 2 weeks. :D. now i have 2 questions that I need help with.

1. I am coming from US and will leave 2 boxes to my friend to ship to me via UPS when I arrived in Canada. I inquired to UPS and I don't think they understood my question if I need to fax/email to my friend the signed/stamped "Goods to follow" list by Canadian customs before my friend goes to them to arrange the shipment of the boxes.

I was told that all my friend need to do is to give them a list of whatever I am shipping and that my friend needs to sign their own form. IF that's the case then how would the canadian customs exclude me from duties/tax/charges?

2. Can I ship the goods via UPS before I fly to Canada? If so, is it still considered as goods to follow? how would I clear it then?

please shed some light about these matters.

Thank you

I wouldn't attempt to answer your question but you would find this thread from the Qorax very informative:
