Hi everyone.I am a filipina just 5mos here in canada and was sponsored by my canadian husband...now I have a plan.would it be possible to sponsor my 4 years old niece.her parents are separated and they are willing to give the costudy to me because I was the one taking care their daughter before and I want her to study here from nursery until finish High school or college....anyone can suggest me the best way to get my niece here in Canada?Thank you very much.Godbless
Unless you actually adopt the child and she severs ties with her parents and CIC accepts that the adoption was for the purpose of forming a genuine parent/child bond and not just so she can emigrate for better economic prospects, you can't sponsor her.
Thank you very much...but international adoption is not easy here....I read about studying in canada also but I dont know if she can study here till she finish high school or college.
There are boarding high schools that accept international students. The problem is they are expensive to begin with, and even more so for international students. She would have to be at least high school age before you can consider bringing her here as a student.
If the adoption is successful, there's still no guarantee that CIC will approve her sponsorship. As Charlie explained, if they feel the adoption was done to better her economic prospects, they could refused the sponsorship application.
