Need help on Police Clearance Certificate

Hi

Can we visit the regional passport office and apply for Police Clearance Certificate?

Or

Do we need to visit the local police station and apply for it.

I'm confused about where to go for this. Few said to go to Passport office. Few said it to go to near police station and others said to go to SP office.

And also.. How much time it will take to get it?

Please help on this.

There are only two places where you can get this, SSP office or Regional Passport Office.

Get PCC form from SSP office, fill it, attach address, identity and birth proofs and submit it back again to SSP office. In next 3-4 days u will get a call from your local police station for inquiry. And in next 4-5 days you can collect it from SSP office.


I find SSP office route convenient.

We can get PCC from passport office on the same day. Dependant above 18 years of age PCC is required.

This is what confused me. Passport office or SSP office?

When i searched for this.. Passport which is less than one year old we can get the PCC from Passport office and if the passport is more than one year old then need to get the certificate from SP office.

Please confirm some one .. which is correct and which one to use for PCC?

For old passports they will do police verification before issue PCC. It may take around one month time.

PCC from SSP office or passport office for punjab both work

if your passport is not older than 6 months passport office will issue u pcc on the spot

my sis sent her my pcc from SSP got her PR request today w8ing for passport to be stamped
