I have received FSW 2014 Visa valid till Mar 2015. Currently, I am working in US & my US Visa has expired but with valid I-94. This means once I leave US, I can only re-enter US with a new valid visa.
My wife has recently got pregnant.
Considering both the above scenarios, it might be difficult for me to enter Canada by Mar 15 & re-enter US with a valid US visa.
I was thinking of requesting CIC to extend my Visa by 6-9 months. By that time, my kid would be born & I would work on sorting my US visa stuff.
Can you kindly advice as to what options/process I have on Request for Visa extention.

In situations like these, the saying goes "he who has the shoe on knows where it pinch". It's tough to give advice to someone else in situations like these. If I were you, I'll take my pregnant wife and head to Canada. You still have some time between now and March to work and save some more money.
One thing is for sure though, your immigrant visa CANNOT be extended, you must use it before it expires or lose it. Lose it and you'll have to start the process again from the beginning.

Thanks a lot kuskus. Was anyone in a similar situation like mine. If yes, Can you kindly advice as to what you had done.
In addition, which email id or contact number I should call CIC & explain my situation & request for extention.
I was hearing that extention is possible, but medicals need to be done again. Is this true.

I have not been in the situation but the little I know is that it's better for your pregnant wife to give birth in Canada of which the baby will be granted PR - I don't know the process but it won't be same as yours, it will be easier. If you make use of the VISA before the expiry date, the only issue remaining will be that of re entering US UK. Find out how long it takes to process renewal, it should not be up to 5 months which you still have ahead of you
