Does anyone know what the steps are to withdraw your application and get a refund for the fees paid?? I remember reading what the steps are somewhere but I can't seem to find it anywhere on with website. As far as I know they haven't started to process my application yet so I'm still safe...i think.
This is very unfortunate for me to ask, but things happen in life that you have no control over
Anyone's help would be much appreciated!! I applied outside of Canada.
We withdrew our inland application. We had to write a letter and sign it to Vegreville Alberta. I believe your letter would be going to Mississauga. I would send the letter as well as fax it. I recall someone saying before they don't accept a fax because they need the hard copy with the signature. Include all your information, birth date ect as well as the applicants. Give a brief description of why you need to withdrawal. You can withdrawal all the way up to when the visa is issued so your okay. The below link is very helpful.
Also it took about 2 months for them to confirm with a letter and a couple days after that we recieved the refund cheque. It takes so long as it takes them awhile to open the mail they recieve. I would write on the outside of the envelope that its a withdrawal as well.
If you haven't yet gotten a decision from CPC-Mississauga, fax them a letter immediately and request to withdraw. Then follow up with a certified letter, signature delivery confirmation.
They are currently processing applications received November 2, so they're close to assessing yours. If you catch it before they start assessment, it's possible you'll get all your fees refunded - be sure to ask for that in the letter. If they start assessment, you'll only get the $490 RPRF back! Fax number for CPC-M is 1-905-803-7392
That's true - inland applications do not begin assessment until 8-9 months after they're received . . . although I've heard that once they open the application to check for completeness, and log it in, your fees are gone. Regardless, it's only about 38 days for CPC-M to assess the first part of a sponsorship application - so the time for withdrawing and saving the fees is much shorter.
