Hi All,
I need to apply for a US police clearance certificate as part of the Citizenship Application and I was wondering if anyone has had experience doing that from Canada.
Since I live in Canada, and I don't have a valid US visa anymore, I can't go to the US physically to do any of this. I need to process it from Canada.
I know that I need to fill out the online form, which I did, and then I need to fill out and mail the FD-258 form to the FBI.
Does anyone know if I can just take the fingerprints myself?
Or if I need some external agency do it for me (like a local police station etc.)
Any help in this matter would be really appreciated.

You can take them yourself but if you don't know what is considered a passable fingerprint you'll have to retake them. I would highly suggest suggesting shelling out the 50 bucks to have someone do it for you as they'll be able to evaluate whether it was done correctly.
You'll have to find a place in your city that still does ink fingerprinting.
