Need Help apply visa with arrested record and still on peace bond

Hi everyone, I'm currently college student in Canada with valid Permit until September 2013, but my temporary residence visa already expired. I wish to extend my Temporary Residence Visa before going back to visit my family in March. I still have not send my application because of some problem had happened to me few months ago. I've been in a fight with my boy friends in the campus and we both got arrested with the domestic violence charge. We were photographed and fingerprinted by the police. All Charges were withdrawn and we both accepted to walk out with 12 months peace bond that offered by the court. The only condition of the peace bond is to keep good behavior to each other for 12 months which will be end by October 2013. I'm having a serious headach and depression since the begining until now. Could anyone please help me and give me some advice.

My question is
Can i apply my Visa while im on peace bond?
Does arrested rec and peace bond will have any serious effect to my visa application?

Ha! I have never heard of a situation as such before, however, I doubt it should affect your application's processing. I recall there is a section for criminal record on the application, but this doesn't sound like it was serious, plus all charges were dropped. Is there an international students' office at your school where you can ask an advisor?

Yes we do have An international student office but they have no clue about the immigration law.

Try calling CIC. Speak to an agent, and ask. I highly doubt it would be a problem though good luck.

2. Peace bond is not a criminal conviction or record. Apply for photo/fingerprint destruction from CPIC database after 1 year. Process itself takes 8 to 9 months.
